Our Story
In 2021 Drew M. Hodis, academic tutor and music instructor, founded Hodis Learning & Music. With a passion for teaching and helping others, Hodis has served his hometown of South Pasadena for nearly a decade, starting as an individual tutor at South Pasadena High School. HLM has since grown to serve the greater Pasadena area including San Marino, Alhambra, Altadena, and San Gabriel.
“Tutoring for me isn’t just about helping a student finish their homework. I see a lot of kids struggling with stress and self-esteem, I want to give them confidence and encouragement,” Hodis explains.
His drive to help students excel in the classroom and beyond is also what motivated him to get a PhD in Clinical Psychology, which he is in school for now at Adelphi University. With this experience, Hodis hopes to bring a holistic approach and understanding of psychology and motivation to better serve HLM students.

We Support the South Pasadena and Pasadena Educational Foundations (SPEF and PEF)
Hodis Learning & Music believes in giving back to the educational system that our students go through. As such, we donate 20% of our net profits to SPEF and PEF. These donations provide funds for enrichment programs such as summer school, youth camps, afterschool classes, the South Pasadena 5th grade musical, elementary music programs, field trips, robotics programs, and grants to teachers.
